African Network of Deep-water Researchers workshop series

Are you an African national working on or interested in deep-sea research? Through the recently launched African Network of Deep-water Researchers, we are holding a series of workshops to gather African perspectives on capacity development needs & actions to advance deep-water research in Africa.

• Workshop 1 (10h00-13h00 UTC+2 on 12 and 13 July 2023) will focus on gathering information and developing ideas. The workshop will develop a shared vision for deep-water research in Africa, discuss challenges and barriers and explore possible actions to overcome these. A core writing team will synthesise the outputs of Workshop 1 and produce a first stage draft report on behalf of the members.
• Workshop 2 (10h00-12h00 UTC+2 on 08 and 10 August 2023) will present the draft report for further consideration, input and editing by participants.
