The UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development (2021\u20132030) represents a once in a generation opportunity towards a more sustainable future for deep oceans. A roadmap for the Deep Ocean Decade, published in 2018, recognises the deep sea as the frontier for discovery, calling for the scientific community to advance the understanding of ecology, functions and services of deep oceans. This session welcomes submissions of deep-sea science to support sustainable development, and those that reflect societal issues of years to come.
