Sur Ridge Deep Sea Coral Studies

We plan to continue our studies of deep-sea coral sponge communities at Sur Ridge, near Monterey Bay. Activities will include recovery of time lapse cameras, mooring servicing (sediment traps, McLane Profiler), observations of marked coral colonies, eDNA sampling, benthic transects, faunal collections for food web studies.  We will also visit the Octopus Garden near Davidson Seamount, for continued studies of octopus biology and ecology.
